Video recording your lessons online (MAC)

 Audience: Academic Staff 

Learn how to record screen recordings and then upload videos to Moodle for your learners to watch.

This session is great for all academic staff and would help to enrich your teaching as well as promote independent learning as your learners can listen to you explain the lecture, go back, re-wind and listen as many times as they need.

In this session

You will:

  • See a demonstration of how Juan uses video in his teaching
  • Explore the benefits of using video in flipped learning
  • Experiment and create your own screencast using a MAC computer and Quicktime.
  • An overview of MOOCs (massive open online courses used by top universities around the globe) e.g. other Coursera, Blackboard Collaborate and how they use video

About the Presenter

This session will be delivered by Juan Cruz who is  Digital Arts Support & a Lecturer in Creative Industries.

He uses a MAC computer daily and is the perfect person to speak to about audio and video recordings online.

Juan is very experienced in participating in MOOCs and has been studying in a distance learning course with the Open University in Life Sciences.  He understands what an online course looks like and can comment on standards.

You may have questions and concerns an Juan will be able to answer these. He’s always willing to help so bring your questions along
